Born and raised in Toronto, Lazar started acting from age three in various commercials, TV, theatre and radio projects. This sparked his interest in film and evolved as he started to gravitate to behind the scenes work.
He is a graduate of New York University - Tisch School of the Arts where he studied Film and TV Production with a focus on directing.
Lazar’s first short film aired on Roger’s TV in Toronto. Marvin, his second short film, was accepted into nine film festivals winning three awards. His third short film The Spotter, played at eleven film festivals, while his most recent film Father and Son completed a successful festival run, premiering online on Film Shortage.
He recently directed the comedic web series, Grosse Misconduct, which was distributed by Revry.
Currently, Lazar is doing commercial work as a director, writer, producer and editor and developing two feature films.
